The Kings Speech

I watched The Kings Speech last night, and I was impressed. It's a brilliant movie, and deserves all the praise that it has received. At the beginning of the movie however, the thanks yous and whatnot's seemed to suggest that the government played a role in the making of this movie. I don't know... I'm probably wrong. It just seemed that they were trying to make the British people feel good about their royal monarchy, and being British myself, I can see them doing something like that. Its probably not true, and the organizations that were thanked for their funding may not have anything to do with the government whatsoever, it's just a hunch. The movie as a whole was great, and the style of filming was really very unique. Apparently it was rated R for language, but I think it should have been a PG 13. Highly Recommend.

Bin Laden Dead...

If you turn on any news channel, read any newspaper, or go on any news website, it is virtually impossible not to read or hear something announcing loud and proud the death of Osama Bin Laden. At first I was a sheep, I can honestly say that I felt happy. But then a friend brought something to my attention; we are celebrating a man being killed. There are people dancing in the streets of New York, Washington DC, and I'm sure streets all accross the country, chanting USA. All because a man has been killed. In my eyes, after some sincere thinking, that is disgusting. Yes he took the lives of thousands of people, and yes he deserved to be punished, and probably deserved to be killed, but the fact that there are peope celebrating that he has been murdered is just downright wrong. He was still a man with people who loved him, and by cheering and partying to the death of one man, makes you no better than him. Take the high road, and aknowledge that he commited many crimes against humanity, and deserved a just punishment, but do not be one of the sheep that celebrates a murder.
